New tour in preparation
Kyoto Through Scent
Incense, memory, and everyday elegance — a quiet walk through the Kyoto you can smell before you see.
The idea
In Kyoto, scent is not only perfume.
It is connected to prayer, seasons, rooms, letters, clothes, and memory. In Japanese incense culture, you don't simply smell incense — you "listen" to it. This new walk moves through central Kyoto's incense world: a place to learn how scent lives in Japanese daily culture, a quiet temple in the middle of the city, streets where Kyoto's merchants have traded for generations, and at the end, a scent you choose yourself to carry home.

Questions, answered early
When will the incense walk launch?
The tour is currently in preparation. Join the interest list below and you'll be the first to hear when dates open.
Why is the group limited to 4 guests?
Incense shops and scent spaces are quiet places. A small group keeps the experience natural and respectful — for you and for the people who work there.
I'm sensitive to scents. Can I join?
Japanese incense is generally subtle, but please tell us in advance if you have scent sensitivities or asthma so the experience can be adjusted. We also ask all guests to skip strong perfume on the day.
Do I need to buy anything?
No. Choosing a scent is part of the experience, but purchases are always optional.
